Wanda loooked from the clock on the wall, to the shattered plate on the floor, to her own bowl of cereal, and back again. Waiting for Magneto was putting her on the edge, she'd gone so far as to throw a plate of toast at Pietro for asking her what was wrong. It had been satisifying, but now she had to clean up the mess.
"God, I'm such a mess," she muttered to herself, stabbing at her Cheerios with a spoon.

Mortimer walked into the kitchen, rubbing his aching head sleepily. Even after an entire bottle of gin he couldn't forget the humiliation of the previous night. He'd have to make it up to Wanda by watching her kids, even though he felt like crap. "Hi," he said, grabbing the coffee pot and pouring himself a mug.

"Hey," she looked up at him, before glancing back at the clock. Making a slight face, she looked back at her cereal and viciously broke apart some Cheerios against the side of the bowl with her spoon.
She hadn't forgotten about the night before, she was just too anxious waiting for Magneto to deal with it.

He sat down across from her and sipped his coffee, wishing that his head wasn't throbbing. He looked up at the clock. It as half-past nine. "Did you sleep well?" he asked after a while.

"I slept okay," she nodded slightly, eating a mouthful of Cheerios and milk. "How about you?"

He shrugged. "I slept all right."

Wanda nodded slightly and glanced at the clock again. "God, I hate waiting," she groaned slightly, dropping her spoon and pinching the bridge of her nose.

"He'll be here," said Mortimer, taking another sip of his coffee. "You want some coffee?"

Wanda nodded, looking over at Mortimer. "Yeah, I think I could stand a cup. Probably asprin, too..." she was starting to talk to herself now.

He got up and poured her a cup. "Here."

"Thanks," she answered softly. Smiling a little at him, she took the cup and sipped at it as she stood to find some pain killers.

He took another sip of his coffee and closed his eyes. He got up when he heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway.

She swallowed some asprin quickly before heading towards the front door to see who'd pulled up. Biting her lip, she watched Magneto's car pull up the drive as she stepped out on to the front poarch.

Mortimer opened his eyes and got up. He walked out and stood on the porch, watching as Magneto's sleek black car pulled into the driveway.

The car came to a halt and Magneto got out, moving around to let the twins out of their carseats from the backseat. Wanda said nothing, just staring hard at her father, as the two young boys climbed out of the car and all but ran towards the house, chattering.
There was a moment when Wanda and Magneto just stared at each other, and then he got back in the car and left.
Letting her cold expression falter slightly, Wanda smiled softly at her children and let them to cling to her legs.

He watched as the kids hugged Wanda's legs, babbling and chattering excitedly. He stepped off the porch and walked over to them.

She watched Mortimer, trying to quietly calm the twins down while extracting them from her legs with one hand.

"Hey kids," he said, trying to help Wanda untangle herself from them.
"Play with us, Mommy! Play!"

Wanda pretended it didn't hurt as one twin tried to grab her injured arm, carefully scooping him up with her other arm.
"We'll play after lunch," she murmured softly, praying they'd be somewhat calmer after lunch and a nap. "Why don't you color quietly until then?"

Mortimer picked up the other twin, Michael. "We'll play after lunch," he said, "your mum isn't feeling too well."
"You smell funny," said Michael, wrinkling his nose.

"Michael," Wanda warned, arching an eyebrow at Thomas to keep him from making fun of his twin. "You two are going to be on your best behavior, understand?"
Thomas nodded his head enhusiatically, obviously picking up the warning tone in her voice.

"That's OK," said Mortimer.
"Can you play tag?" asked Michael.
"You bet."

Wanda smiled slightly at them, starting towards the front door, though she was utterly incapable of opening it. Sighing a little fustrated, she leaned against the outside wall of the house and held Thomas closely.

Wanda smiled softly at Mortimer as she walked past him, glad to see that he'd managed to calm Michael down. "Thanks," she said softly.
