She had no idea what possessed her to do this…but it felt good. So it justified the whole situation. Jean Grey had recently acquired a great deal of hedonism since uncovering her true potential. And somehow she found herself at an all mutant club…it was underground…but a telepath had ways of finding these things out…it was incredibly liberating.
Gyrating and grinding with the air was fun. Now in most clubs being liberated with your powers wasn’t allowed. But in this one…it was encouraged there were people putting on light displays and all that nonsense. Jean…well she was on fire. Red leather pants. Tight black tank top with a custom Phoenix ensigna ‘sewed’ in red. The fire effect was starting to garner an audience…mostly cause they felt the power radiating off of her. Most people had to strain to keep up that sort of effect. To her…she was the Phoenix…nothing was too hard. The mere ease of it was funny.
The science of her powers was broken down to her by Beast. It wasn’t that her power was over fire now…no. She had so much power that it was merely her accelerating the molecules nearest to her. Her hair curled and flew like it was fire…and perhaps at this point it was…she doubted it was that no one wanted to dance with her that she had no one…no she was definitely desired…she could feel it…but this only spurred her further…
Jean tossed her fiery mane with sexuality…She was just too hot to handle.

For some people technically not born with any extra gifts, getting into a club like this would have been difficult. But thanks to the government of the good ol' U.S of A, Johnny had this covered. When approaching the door he was stopped since he had shown no specific physical mutation. The blonde's lips curved into a smirked as he touched the bouncer's nametag, melting it. His blue eyes gave the fiery glint that seemed to challenge the bouncer to refuse his entry.
Fortunately (for the bouncer) Johnny Storm was allowed in without further question. The first thing that caught his blue eyes was a flash of red that almost seemed familiar. He stood on his tip toes to see over some of the crowd as he gravitated to the light like the rest of the crowd. He peered over a few of the larger mutants' shoulders to see a woman who seemed almost too hot to handle.
Though no woman was too hot for Johnny Storm.
His body engulfed itself in fire as he opted to float over the crowd to get a better look. Some of the female mutants taking a good look at the Human Torch with a bit of admiration and desire. At the moment though, Johnny didn't pay attention to his newly acquired fans as he got airborn enough to cut his way to the front of the crowd to get a better look at... Jean freakin' Grey.
Dancing... and on fire and dancing.
Johnny's short attentino span was now fully captivated as he dared to do what it seemed that no other male in this club had the huevos to do. Like the rest of the group, he was moving with the music and in Jean's direction, but he, unlike everyone else, dared to approach her. His black dress shirt had the sleeves rolled up, showing that his skin had completely turned to fire before the fire spread to cover his entire person for a brief moment before Flaming Off. Thought there were licks of flames that followed his movements.

She could feel him coming. Funny how that worked…all consuming power had to be used. He was disrupting the telekinetic flow. As she reigned in the range of her powers the fire grew brighter and more intense.
“I’m not here for you entertainment…you really don’t want to mess with me tonight…”
That’s how she felt. She was untouchable. Above them all. Not even Johnny Freakin Storm could touch her. Phoenix only knew what would happen if he did try to touch her…cause the closer one tried to get the harder it became to think…to move. And to resist. Until the urge is over powering.
So this proved one thing. Either Johnny is incredibly brave…or incredibly stupid. She had yet to determine this. Though his persistence was admirable…and he was hot…really hot…

Bravery and stupidity was one of those very very fine lines that seemed almost impossible to determine which was which. Johnny preffered to call it brave. Not even that... it was being Johnny Storm. That fine line blurred very easily when you were literally the hottest thing working for the government. It seemed to be solid proof that Johnny was either out of his fucking mind... or just THAT good as he continued his fearless approach.
AS he got closer, he did feel the effects that seemed to keep the others away. Unfortunately, Johnny wasn't like the others. The closer he got, the harder it was to keep up with the beat of the music... but as he managed to continued, he seemed to think approaching Jean was going to be well worth it. After all, he found Jean Grey to be pretty alluring even without the special effects.

He was utterly stupid. There was no other way of explaining it. She didn’t want to hurt him…but he was asking to be engulfed in the maelstrom that was the Phoenix. She idly wondered if SHIELD had updated it’s database. She had seen the file the professor sent to them about the X-men. She was considered only level nine to his own ten as well as Storm’s. Things were different now. She knew she could beat them. And anyone else if it came down to one on one. Not even Hulk or Wanda stood a chance.
Formerly green eyes snapped open as Johnny got closer. They leaked with fire and plasma. The brightness of the stars contained in one person. She was no longer inhibited and tonight was her night to show this.
She was The Phoenix. And as such she did what ever the hell she wanted…no matter what anyone else says.

It SHEILD had updated its system, Johnny wouldn't have read it anyways. After all, usually before he did something, a member of his team would inevitably stop him and tell him why something was a bad idea. Now, if Susan or Reed were there, they would have stopped him from the get-go and would have explained that he was approaching a very dangerous mutant.
But this was Jean! They'd talked before and she seemed like a very nice person once she realized you weren't a complete skeaze. He had no idea that technically this might not be Jean anymore. She looked like Jean... moved like Jean (not that he payed that much attention or anything to it)... and he reacted to this dancer the same way he had to Jean... therefore it was Jean.
As he felt it get harder to approach, Johnnhy simply smirked. At this point, if Reed or Susan told him to stop, it would have been too late. It now was a challenge. He would get close to her and he would say hello and they would laugh and have fun like the last time, dammit! If he had known that she was the Phoenix and all unstoppable-like... he still would have attempted this. Who was he kidding?
He watched the fire leak from Jean's eyes and could only smile as his body started to send off enough heat where the fire would lick off of his skin into the air. He continued his approach, not noticing that those that had been dancing around them had now started watching them more intently... some of them taking bets as to how far the blonde would be lauched or how close he'd get before she melted his face off.
Johnny continued his approach anyways, getting closer and closer, still ignorant to the fact that this might not be the same girl that he'd hung out with in Central Park.

The fact that he hadn't heard of her leveling all the sentinels that could be spared to that genetics lab was saying something. It had been plastered across the news. And this was probably why half the club was terrified of her but so enthralled by the show that they stuck around...
As for them thinking she was going to kill Johnny. Well...she wasn't...not yet atleast. She pulled her power in more. Making it hotter. Stronger. She wasn't going to let him touch her without fighting for it. Proving he was worthy of touching a goddess.
Storm may have been treated like one. But Phoenix. She was one and this was going to be known to the world soon. Telepathic waves began to emit from the fiery creature. They weren't particularly strong. But anyone could tell they started to feel a bit of her fire. The passion she was feeling was begining to leak to the other minds.

It wasn't so much that he hadn't heard. It was more or less the fact that he thought it no big deal. Yeah she was powerful. He knew a lot of people with power. But he found Jean to be captivating. He didn't care what she was capable of. Technically he could create about the same heat as the sun. He knew what it was like to have someone look at him as some sort of human weapon.
Frankly, he never looked at people like that. It was one of those qualities about Johnny that set him apart from most people in SHEILD.
But at the moment, he felt the intensity of Jean's fire and upped the pot a bit as his own heat increased. He forced himself to get closer. Again, this was a challenge. Like their race to Central Park. He was not about to back down. Especially not when he was so close. He may have been trying to touch a goddess, but he still saw her as Jean. Goddess, Jean, or both; he was not about to give up.

She was beyond the sun. She could destroy it if she wanted. This woman could feel every creature on the planet. Her telepathy was that strong. Her telekinesis could rip the very molecules of the planet to shreds sending them through space and time like they were nothing. And to her they were nothing.
The floor began to glow red hot. This was a much different challenge than before. If he backed down now...he's die. Her power would shred him quicker than he could imagine it happening. There would be nothing anyone in this room could do. And it would be glorious watching the flame of the avengers ignite more brightly than ever...and then go out...forever.

Johnny Storm actually managed to get a bit of sweat on his brow. He wiped it off discretely in a smooth movement as he continued his approach, fairly certain that Jean had been holding back on him at the park. He still wouldn't back down though. No, he never had quit something before in his life... why on earth would he start now? He got closer. At this point he was less than a foot away from her and he could feel the tension Jean's telekinesis created. Quitting wasn't an option. Not even when he noticed a good amount of the club goers start to bolt out at the new glow of the floor.
