She smiled slightly at him, reaching over and tenatively touching her fingers to his arm. "You're a part of this dysfunctional family unit thing whether you like it or not," she pointed out softly. "Besides, I may go mad if the Professor and Hank are the only ones over thirty that I have to talk to."

He didn't flinch as she touched him, which partially surprised him. Instead he turned his head slightly to look at her fingers on his arm. "Well I guess compared to Hank's crazy babble and Charlie's...whatever the hell it is, I'm great conversation huh?" He didn't know if he believed her but he'd go along with it for now.

Somewhat encouraged by his lack of flinching, she tenatively brought her other hand up to rest against his shoulder. "Well, I might not go so far as to say 'great conversation'... but it's never sugarcoated or completely impossible to understand."

His shoulders were tense, as always and again he didn't react to her touch. His gaze flicked up to her face and then back down to her hand on his arm, then away to focus on his mostly eaten sandwich. "Kitty's always sayin I need ta talk more. Think yer the only one gets more'n a few words outta me."

She grinned slightly, carefully kneading one knot in his tense shoulder with the tips of her fingers. Part of her wanted to point out that she'd been through the trial and error process of figuring out how to talk and act around him many more times than any of the students. "You might not be so tense if you talked more," she pointed out. "But, then, you wouldn't be you... and I'd be out of a highly dangerous job."

Logan let out another short and gruff laugh, this one more sincere then the previous. "Darlin, I wouldn't know how not to be me if I tried. Tense is just a part of it, don't think talkins what's gonna fix it." He was starting to relax though, just a little.

Ororo shrugged slightly. "Talking can work wonders, sometimes," she answered softly. "And sometimes not. I guess it kind of depends on whether or not there's anything that really needs to be fixed."

"How bout you?" He asked, turning slightly to regard her. "Talkin help you fix anything?"

"I..." Ororo frowned slightly, thinking it over. "Some things more than others, I guess. It helped me over my parents' deaths, at least."

He nodded and turned away again. "Still something's talkin doesn't do a lick of good though right?"

She said nothing, silently staring down at his shoulder. Gently, she continued to rub the tenseness out of his shoulder.

He let her continue for awhile. Relaxing more and even almost nodding off. He snapped to and shook his head, pulling out of her touch. He stood up and grabbed what remained of his sandwich and the now empty bottle and moved off with them.
"Should probably let Charlie know I'm back. Haven't checked in with him yet."

She nodded slightly, folding her hands in her lap as soon as he pulled away. "I"m sure he's already noticed," she assured. "But he might like it if you went in and told him you were here."

"Yeah. Well, let me know bout the trainin sessions. You need help or anything. Otherwise I guess I'll see what he wants to set up." He lingered a moment, staring down at the bottle in his hand.

She nodded slightly, standing a little stiffly. Quickly gathering the remains of her water and orange, she tossed them in the trash. "If something comes up, I'll be sure to let you know," she nodded slightly, grabbing a was cloth and very stiffly starting to wipe the counter down out of habit.

He nodded and dropped his bottle into the crash can. Pausing in the doorway with his back to her he seemed about to say something, then walked out without word.

Ororo nodded slightly as he left, looking down at the counter as she wipped it clean. Her long hair fell over her shoulder, brushing against the counter slightly.
