Logan sat at the counter with a sandwich and a beer, having managed to sleep for several hours on the couch before finally picking himself up and heading for the kitchen.

Ororo made her way into the kitchen, her bare feet making no noise on the tile floor as she walked. "Logan," she nodded slightly to him as she made her way towards the fridge. Her muscles were stiff from the latest physical therapy session, making somewhat difficult to walk with her usual grace, but she just barely managed to keep up appearence.

He nodded back at her, watching her a moment and reading the stiffness on her but not making any mention of it. "Ro." he said with a slight nod of his own as he took a swig from the beer.

Ororo grabbed a bottle of water and an orange from the fridge, coming to sit next to him at the counter. Silently, she started to peel the orange, watching Logan from the corner of her eye.

He worked on his sandwich, ignoring for now her glances and waiting for questions that were no doubt coming. He wasn't sure what they would be though. About his absence, maybe something to do with Rogue earlier, or why he was sitting alone in the kitchen eating a sandwich and drinking beer.

She let the orange peel fall to the counter, carefully pulling the slices apart. "Don't you think it's a little early to start drinking?" she asked softly, eating one slice of orange. It was the most logical question she had to ask him: after all, she was far too used to his sudden dissappearences and reappearences, even if the latest one had been long and she hadn't even heard about Rogue yet, those things had a habit of falling by the wayside when she was busy.

He shrugged his shoulders, "What time is it?"

"A little past three-thirty," Ororo answered automatically, not even bothering to glance at her watch. Not that it would have helped, appearently waterproof did not mean it would survive a downpour.

He took a pull on the beer and another large bite from his sandwich and answered her question. "No."

"So... what is driving you to drinking today?" Ororo smirked slightly, taking a sip of water. "Considering you've been back for all of a day, I can hardly believe it's the kids."

He arched an eyebrow at her, Rogue immediatly springing to mind. Changing his expression he shook his head and stared at his sandwich, picking at the crust a little. "Nothin."

She frowned slightly, looking over at him. Playing with a broken bit of the orange peel, she sighed and just watched him for a minute. "So... who's done what now to get you so worked up?" she asked very softly, trying to guess at his expressions and body language all the while wishing she was telepathic.

"Its nothin." He repeated, "Just folks don't know well enough to leave a guy alone to sleep is all." He covered with a surly growl and another drink from the bottle. He was well aware he should let her know what had happened but was at war with himself not wanting to break Rogue's trust and protecting her.

Ororo nodded knowingly, tracing her finger through the small ring of water her bottle was leaving. "I suggest using a room with a very good lock to sleep in... and rigging it with all sorts of traps," if he could pretend that was the real problem, so could she. It was easier to get him to talk when she just went along with it, anyway.

"You'd think it being me, people would know better." He grumbled, glad that she didn't press. "Must be losin my rep."

She laughed sloftly. "I think it's more like gaining a new rep. They think you're a big old teddy bear or something," she grinned and nudged his shoulder with her own. "And you know kids... once they get it stuck in their heads, they just don't let a notion die."

"Teddy bear?" He looked at her and snorted. "That's Kitty an Rogue's doin. Maybe more danger room sessions with the lot of them will do it."

"There's worse reps," she grinned over at him. "And you really are a softy for the kids when you want to be... of course, if you think they need Danger Room time, I have no choice but to sign them up for it."

He hesitated, he really hadn't been planning on staying too long this time around either. "What all have you all been doin with em while I've been gone?"

She shrugged slightly, taking a sip of water. "Training. Nothing compared to how you train them, of course... but it's full of variety. Scott does this whole military thing and Hank has them work on power control through various programs and Xavier pulls up a bunch of old battle things." she shrugged again. "I've stuck to more practical, non-power things..." she trailed off, not quite looking at him. After all, he didn't know about her physical therapy, various relapses, and strange power levels. And if he couldn't stick around to find out in the first place, she felt no need to tell me.

"Your doin the non-power thing?" He asked, glancing over at her. "Huh. I'd have figured you'd be doin the control training." She was, after all, the one he had always known to have the most control over her abilities.

"I just think they should also learn to survive without powers, is all," she didn't quite look at him, finishing off her orange. "Besides, the others seem to be handling the control thing rather well. The amount of property damage is decreasing since the newest batch."

"Yeah." He watched her carefully now, close to questioning her but pulling back feeling he probably didn't have the right. "Guess I could help out with a few sessions. Sure they need brushing up on thier survival training." He turned his attention back to his beer, pulling on the label while hunching his shoulders drawing himself inward.

"You're not planning on staying?" she frowned slightly, staring at her water. She was fairly certain that if he was staying, it'd be a lot more than a few sessions. "Everybody's going to be upset to hear that. It's hardly the same here when you're gone."

He gave a short gruff laugh, "I'm sure. Ya'll seem ta get along fine without me." He thought about Rogue again and started to peel the lable off his bottle. "I figure I'll hang out for a bit though. No hurry ta get goin again."
