"Yeah, okay." He nodded, not entirely sure himself what the offer was supposed to mean.
Logan turned and led the way back towards the mansion and the garage. "I just got my bike, we can take a car if ya wanna."

"The bike is fine," Ororo answered quitely, falling into step with him. After all, the bike was more comfortable for Logan than the car; and she really didn't feel like taking him out of his comfort zone. Besides, the bike was less clausterphobic than a car and it was almost as good as flying (though nothing was as good as riding on a breeze).

In the garage Logan got on the bike and made room for Ororo. He started the bike and steered them from the garage and off the mansion grounds.

Ororo carefully wrapped her arms around Logan's waist to keep from falling as they drove off. Carefully, she shifted the winds around them to keep her too long hair from whipping in her face.

Logan started out slow, not wanting to upset Ororo or anything. Then he realized that this is someone who controls the elements and flies, a little speed shouldn't be anything she can't handle. With that thought in mind he pushed the bike forward, the engine roaring and the bike eating up the road.

Ororo smiled slightly as Logan sped up, tightening her grip just a little more around his waist. She made a mental note to remind him that she didn't mind speed when they finally stopped. For now, though, she was content to just ride, pressed close to his back.

He felt the warmth of her pressed against his back and tried not to admit to himself that he liked it. When the turn came up though he was tempted to keep on going. A bit reluctantly he pulled off and steered the bike down another road a short distance before a diner came into view and he pulled into the parking lot.
Shutting off the bike he waited for her to get down while giving a nod towards the diner. "This place has got pretty good coffee. Damn fine slice a' pie too."

Reclutantly, she pulled away from him and stood, waiting for him before she started towards the diner. "That sounds good," she replied.

He set the followed after her, quickening a step so he could get the door for her. "Yeah, I found this place last time I came back to the mansion. Been meanin' to come back."

She nodded slightly. "Maybe you should have come back sooner," she murmured gently as she stepped into the brightly light diner.

He can only give a short nod to that and then followed her in. Sitting down in a corner booth he ordered a coffee and asked for a piece of pecan pie. "How bout you darlin?"

"I'll have the same," she ordered, slipping into the booth so she was sitting on the opposite of him. She smiled slightly at Logan, propping her chin up in one hand.

Logan watched the waitress leave then turned his attention to Ororo, then to the napkin dispenser and salt shaker set.

"So..." Ororo started, watching Logan with interest. "Is there some reason you broke your antisocial habits and asked me to have coffee with you?" She was almost teasing, but mostly curious at the same time.

He adjusted the napkin dispenser and straightened out the shaker rack, his gaze still focused on them, and forced a shrug. "Just thought...s'long as neither of us was gettin sleep may as well get a bite an coffee."

"I feel so special," she grinned slightly at him, fingering a scratch on the table. She was running out of topics to talk about with him, and some tratiorous part of her mind (the part she should have left in Africa) pointed out that talking was overrated anyway.

He finally looked at her, afraid for a brief moment he'd offended her or something then saw she was smiling and smiled himself. "So, you were askin bout where I was..."
He scratched his chin and looked out the window then back at her. "Was up North, kinda wandering Canada. Spent a little time in Japan an came back stateside."

"Sounds like fun," she murmured slightly, fingering a different scratch on the table. "Did you find what you were looking for?" The smile stayed on her face; truthfully, she was happy he was even talking to her.

Do I ever? He shook his head. "Naw. Helped a couple friends out though, got to see a few things. Wasn't like a break or nothin, just change in scenery."

Ororo nodded slightly, thankfully spared from answering as their order arrived. "Well, changes in scenery are nice sometimes."

"Yeah, sometimes..." He took a drink from his coffee and set the mug down, watching the steam rise from it.

She sipped at her coffee, watching him for a moment.

And tonight has marked the most he's said to anyone about anything in a long time. He kept it running for a long time but ran out when the coffee arrived.
He broke the crust of his pie with a fork and sampled a piece.

She smiled slightly, content to allow him his silence and enjoy the company. Quietly, she started to nibble at her piece of pie.

The pie was as he remembered it and Logan began working on it. He cleaned the plate and set his fork down to pick up his mug again. "What do you think?"
