Ororo sat on the branch of an old tree in the pack garden, her legs hanging over either side and leaning back against the trunk. Wind whipped around her, moving in tighter and tighter circles as it tugged at her nightgown and hair.
It was somewhat comforting on nights when she couldn't sleep to create mini-storms. And tonight, she definetly wouldn't be able to sleep, even for an hour. Part of her knew it was stupid to feel guilty that she hadn't been strong enough to go on that last mission and help. After all, it wasn't her fault that Apocalypse had given her a power boost she wasn't physically ready for.
Staring down at her shaking hands, she shook her head to kill that feeling. Frowning, she let her grip on the winds loosen slightly, though she left them strong enough to shake the tree she sat in.

There was a bright flare that partially illuminated Logan's face as he lit a cigar while leaning against a wall on the patio. He waved the match out and puffed on the cigar, seemingly lost in thought and not aware of Ororo's presence nearby.

The smell of the cigar smoke got caught up in her winds, causing Ororo's stomach to turn at the heavy smoke in her face. Scowling slightly, she shooed that particular wind away, pressing one arm to her stomach. So maybe there was a downside to sitting in the middle of the small wind storm.

The strange breezes caught his attention and Logan turned his head and caught sight of Ororo in a tree. He walked over and stopped a few paces away from the bottom of the tree, staying on the edges of her small wind storm.
"Hey Ro', you stuck up there?" He asked regarding her with a grin, the cigar clamped in his teeth.

Ororo smirked slightly, looking down at him and tossing her legs over one side of the branch as if preparing to jump off. "Do you really think I could get stuck?" she asked, getting rid of the wind storm with a dismissive wave. "It's just a nice spot to sit."

He took a step to the side, giving her a place to land if she did jump down. "Nah, just thought I was the only one who sat in trees when I couldn't sleep."

She grinned slightly and slipped off the branch, allowing the wind to slow her fall so that she landed gracefully next to him. "I turn up in the weirdest places when I can't sleep," she murmured, softly.

Logan turned his head slightly to let out a puff of smoke away from her then turned back, "Can't say I blame ya, s'a nice night ta be out."

Ororo nodded her agreement, allowing stray bits leftover from her wind storm breeze past them. The wind tangled in her hair, keeping it off her face. "Mmhm, very nice night."

Logan nodded himself and turned away, looking out over the garden and up at the sky, having run out of things to say. He puffed on the cigar a couple more times and asked, head turned up to regard the branch she had been sitting on, "So, any reason you ain't sleepin?"

"This and that," Ororo shrugged slightly. "Sentinels, Apocalypse, the whole weight of the world kind of thing..."

"Yeah, that whole thing was a real riot." Logan sighed, it coming out almost as a growl. "Don't think on it much myself."

"I try not to," Ororo nodded slightly, clenching her still shaking hands into fists. "It's hard though, when the students aren't up to distract me."

"You say distract, I call it annoyin'." He said gruffly, taking a long draw on the cigar. His voice lightened and he glanced at her hands, "You okay?"

"Fine," she snapped defensively, silently willing her muscles to obey her. Damnit, she was going to be in control of her own body if it killed her.

He arched an eyebrow a moment and then shrugged, "You say so." He tapped the cigar and let ash fall to the ground.

She nodded slightly, leaning back against the tree trunk for support. Carefully, she braced her hands on the rough bark, stilling the shaking as best as she could.

He studied the glowing tip of his cigar a moment, glancing sideways at her braced against the tree, then set it back in his teeth. "You really want a distraction I can sniff out one of the sleep walkers for ya. You know there's gotta be at least one a them kids whose breakin curfew."

She laughed softly, looking at him for a moment. "That's okay. You're actually a pretty good distraction... Besides, Jean and the Professor will catch them in the morning and put them through whatever cruel punishment they can come up with."

His eyes darted away at her glance and he snorted at her comment. "The prof an Jean cruel? I been gone too long if they're what's considered hard around here."

"They're not cruel so much as they're neither softies nor sadists," Ororo answered softly. "Besides, people do change in five years..."

"Five years, been that long?" He shook his head and glanced back at the house. "Don't hardly seem it."

"Some days it does." Logan agreed after a brief silence.

Ororo nodded slightly, leaning further against the try and then sliding down to the ground. Silently, she watched him for a long moment.
