Name: Remy Etienne LeBeau
Codename: Gambit
Age: 26
Affliation(s): Thieves Guild, Hellfire Club, ex-Acolyte
Power: Remy holds the gift to be able to bring out the potential energy in an object. This kinetic charge holds enough of a force that it can explode either on impact or when Gambit wishes. Physical contact is usually required. Thus far it has been documented that he has done it by way of his fingers, skin, and tongue while being able to deliver the maximum charge. There is very little potencey in charging an object via sight and is rarely used in such a way. The explosions impact, sound, and containment can be controlled as well. Rumor also holds that LeBeau possesess a possible second mutation which involves empathy by way of hypnotic charm, but it is uncomfirmed. He also has a kinetic shield that protects him from absorbtion powers and most telepathy.
Skills and Abilities: Staff fighting, Cajun Cooking, Stealth, Espionage, Thievery, Projectile Aim, Flirting, Wise-cracking, and Gambling
Limitations: He cannot protect himself from the explosion emitted from charging an object (if he were not to release an object or take cover, he could be harmed by the explosion). This would create a great deal of harm afflicted to him depending on the intensity of the charge. His rumored "hypnotic charm" only works on first impressions. If he has met a person before, his "charm" won't work on them.
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Red with Black pupils
Distinguishing Marks: His eyes, several burns/scars from not releasing a charged object on time, he has a tattoo of ace cards on the inside of each forearm.
History: He was raised by his adoptive father Jean-Luc LeBeau as a thief. To say that Remy's childhood was easy would simply be a lie. He had known a good deal of violence growing up as well as a good deal of learning that "right" and "wrong" could be considered the same in certain situations. Everything was a grey area. Even when it came to his arranged marriage since the age of six. The marriage was supposed to end a war between the two factions. At nineteen he was married and divorced a year later. After the divorce, Remy went on his way to live apart from the Thieves Guild only to end up living with another group of an unreputable nature: Magneto's Acolytes. In his first escapade with the Acolyte's he ended up meeting a person of particular intrest ( a certain Southern Belle that shall remain nameless). He had ended up kidnapping the girl in order to settle an ordeal with the two Guilds. Later he rejoined the X-woman in the fight against Apocolypse. After Apocolypse, thought, Gambit opted not to join the X-men like Collossus as well as refuted the offer to join the Brotherhood. Instead Remy joined back up with the Thieves Guild and reclaimed his birth Right as head of the Thieves Guild. He has kept his affiliation secret, even from his on-and-off girlfriend, Rogue.
Personality: Remy comes off as a very careless, arrogant, and sarcastic individual. His easy going nature can be considered a reuse though since his rage (when he is brought to it) can be of a very violent nature. The last thing he wants to be is like his adoptive father, and refuses to admit that he possesses some of the same manipulative qualities. He does, however, have his own (seriously distorted) code of honor. He has a sense of duty towards his family as well as a dedication to protect the very few that he lets get close to him. Even though he can be borderline abusive when angry, he means well... most of the time. He hasn't joined the X-men, knowing full-well that he is probably unforgiven from his past with Magneto and he is not out to have to seek the do-gooders' approvals. He is generally a loner and prefers to work and live as such.
Physical Description: Remy is undeniably an attractive young man. Fortunately, it has been hightened since he grew out his hair from that rediculous bowl cut. His hair now is a bit more on the normal side and just long enough to be pulleback in a short ponytail. He stands at about 6'1" and weighs in at about 176 lbs. He has a lean build which holds little fat. He has a boyish appearance about his face, his age really only showing through the five o'clock shadow that seems to be perpetually on his face. Aside from his red on black eyes and roguish good looks, he can be recognized by his trench coat that he wears literally everywhere that has many a pocket with which he can carry almost limitless packs of playing cards (his weapon of choice).
