Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man: no time to talk. Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around since I was born. And now it's all right. It's OK. And you may look the other way. We can try to understand the New York Times' effect on man.
Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother, you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin', and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.
No Johnny Storm was not in 'Saturday Night Fever'... today... but Johnny was in that sort of mood. Every step seemed to be to a beat and every beat seemed to fit perfectly with his surroundings. He was flowing... gelling...he was a walkin' man. His stride was at a quick, confident pace that seemed to also match him. He was out for a good time. His preference to New York simply was rationalized by this: the hot chicks. Sure DC had its perks and a lot of great learning opportunities and other boring crap like that. But there wasn't a solitary babe amoung the joint that wasn't there to protest some political something or other. He continued to walk as he scanned for someone to get a good reading from his babeometer. Thus far there were a few blips but nothing great.
Blip.....Blip.... Blip....

She was totally unawar of this man with a babeometer. Infact she had no idea where she was even going...Jean was in a jogging suite but was infact walking. Not that should couldn't jog from here to Timbuktu but she just didn't feel like it. Infact she felt kinda numb. She had seen Scott drive away from Taryn's house with...Taryn in his car. Needless to say Jean was a little hurt he moved on so quick...and that it was with Taryn of all people...that bitch...
As Jean's anger rose...so did her destructive capability...how ironic. Jean passed by a news paper machine and it abruptly blew up and melted...an odd combo but there it was...and no one even noticed...got to love New York.

Blip... Blip... Blipblip.... Blip...
Johnny continued to walk along the street before noticing a fiery redhead do something he particularly enjoyed (that for a shocker did not involve sex); she blew up and melted a news stand. What a woman! he thought to himself as he started to change coarses to find that woman.
Blip-blip-blipblipblipblipblipblip- WEEEEEWOOOOOOOO!!!!
Babeometer was now off the charts. He had a great visual. Damn she's freakin' hot! he thought again as the distance closed between them. Or atleast he was within whistling distance. And he let the patented woman-call loose. His lips pursed together and he let out a fairly loud wolf-whistle in the red-head's direction. "Hey baby!" he called after her.

What was that...did someone just wolf-whistle...someone did. Damn. Jean whirrled around and said, "Buzz off!" she could tell her saw her blow up the newspaper thing so she used her powers to knock him to his ass. And something happened that had only happened once before. Fire splayed in her hand that was outstretched. She briefly looked at it then turned and began to jog away.

Johnny now lay against a street lamp. She just pushed him. But didn’t push him. Though if she didn’t push him, then how was he on his ass watching her run away? But they weren’t close enough for her to be able to- his brain hurt. “I think I’m in love,” Johnny said as he dusted himself off. Alright, so that may have been an exaggeration on his part. But still. What a woman!
“Flame on!” he proclaimed as his body erupted into fire and flew after the redhead, landing directly infront of her with a large grin. “Hey Johnny Storm here. I couldn’t help but notice you are quite the attractive young lady with a certain fire, if you catch my drift. Now I’m going to throw this out there. Take it or leave it. Your choice… but uhhhh-I think we should get together sometime. Coffee… dinner… movies… dancing… maybe if time allows breakfast after a night of passionate and, excuse the pun, hot sex.”
Johnny was either incredibly brave or very, very stupid. He offered a confident grin as he rested a hand on his waist and the other was in the pocket of his leather racing jacket. At this point, conciquence was nothing. His babeometer was going off the charts.
BEEEEWOOOOOO! BEEEEEEEEEWOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Now Jean Grey was used to nice safe boys. Like Scott and Duncan. Guys she could read like books. Guys that...well weren't very clever. Now she wouldn't exactly call this guy clever he was endearingly persistant. And he had powers. So that weirdness was already clear.
She grabbed hold of him with her TK and pulled him closer to her. "I'll go out with you...but if this is anything sex never happens first date...ever...got that? Don't even bring it up." She wasn't about deal with someone like that. And if the fiery look in her eyes was any indication he should see that...and fear that decision...alot.

Johnny grinned as he was pulled closer. "Sweet! Trust me... you won't regret it." Oh no she wouldn't. Not like he would try and get in her pants on the first date... not after he knew for a fact that she could beat the hell out of him without touching him. Oh well... she had fire... he liked that. "I won't bring it up, I promise," he said with a large grin. "So... you got a name or must I refer to you in awe-struck gasps?"

Jean eyed him a bit and then said, "My name is Jean Grey." She wasn't sure why she was letting a random guy with super powers pick her up but she had no one. And there was no way in hell that she was going to date another X-man that would be way too weird for anyone to really handle. No some random guy with a fire form is much easier to deal with.

"Pleasure, Miss Grey," Johnny said as he offered a hand to shake. Superpowers didn't seem to phase him in the least when it came to picking out a girl. Hell, he thought she would have tried to kill him. But hey, whatever works out. He had a slight inclination she could be on the rebound or something considering he didn't have to try too hard. Then again, he was used to ither being slapped or having women throw themselves at him. He wasn't use to a woman setting her own terms about him taking her out. "So when can I pick you up... or are you free now... or do you need time to get ready or something?"

Jean raised an eyebrow at Johnny and smiled, "Sure make me tell you my name but don't tell me yours...very gentlemanly." The very was accented telepathically to make him realize hiding anything from her was a bad thing.

"I thought I did," Johnny said with a shrug. "Maybe you were just too impressed with my persistence," he said with a large smile. "Anyways, I'm Johnny Storm," he kept his hand extended. "It's alright to shake it. Hands don't bite."

Jean shook the hand offered, "If I was worried about your hand biting me I would be keeping my eyes on it instead your mouth." Besides I have quite the charm to make sure no one bites me. Hey she may as well brag about the fact she could fry his mind without him realizing it before he was a vegtable.

Johnny grinned. At least she seemed to tolerate him a bit more... sort of. He heard the voice in his head and looked around for a moment before piecing together that she was a telepath. "I was wondering why everytime I tried to look in your eyes they didn't seem on mine," he said with a smirk. He released her hand after the handshake. "So, back to my earlier question. When are you available?"

"I'm availiable now I guess...although I'm not really all dressed up but whatever." She shrugged and smirked at him a little bit.

"Well... a pre-date date is in order then," Johnny said with a wink, glad that now she was actually sort of smiling at him. He offered an arm to Jean. "So, tell me about yourself."

Jean shrugged, "I'm a mutant? Who has a degree in genetics..." She wasn't really going to talk about the X-men...they were her private life even if it was technically a public team.

"You sounded almost unsure there," Johnny stated with a small smile. "What else... I'm sure there's more to you than mutant and your job," he said as he started to lead her somewhere, not entirely sure where.

Jean shrugged, "I'm a part time teacher and a boarding school with a bunch of people I went there with."

"So... at a moment like this... what would you be listenning to now and why?" Johnny asked. She was now fully smiling. That was good. Very good.

"Always good. I wasn't sure how you were feelin' before we started talkin'... but gettin' better every second is great," Johnny said with a large smile. "Good moods are great," he said simply.
